JAMMU, Sept 23: A general body meeting of Shri Amarnath Barfani Langars Organisation (SABLO) was held at Utsav Gardens, Smalka Haryana here in which over 300 members from various Bhandaras from J&K, Haryana, Punjab, HP, Chand-igarh, Delhi, UP, Gujarat, etc participated.
The meeting elected Vijay Thakur as president SABLO for third consecutive term for three years tenure.
The welcome address was made by Rajan Gupta who informed about the activities of SABLO. During the meeting some resolutions were also passed to amend the SABLO Constitution.
The resolutions said that the SABLO should not only take up the issues pertaining to Bhandaras /Langars but also connect with yatris for resolving their problems faced by them, eminent persons including retired judges, retired IAS and IPS officers, social activists etc can also become members of SABLO, it can take legal recourse to achieve its objectives if the issues are not addressed by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), J&K Government, Central Government or any other department.
The meeting expressed its disappointment over the decline in the number of yatris this year, which remained below four lakh against seven lakh plus last year.
It demanded restoration of on line registration from 2014, scanned copy of compulsory health certificate of yatris be obtained on line and original be checked at Base camps, there should be no restriction on date of yatra for registered yatris provided the number of yatris is below the number of maximum yatris fixed for daily darshan, registration card/slip of yatris should be valid for minimum period of four to five days before and after the date of darshan, in addition to Jammu &TRC Sriangar, facility of on spot registration of yatris should be made available at Manigam, Sonamarg, Neelgrath, Baltal, Domel, Anantnag, Nunwan and Chandanwari besides other convenient places to the yatris, the insurance of yatris should be valid for entire yatra period instead of date for darshan.
