SAMBA, Aug 9: District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing four animals, in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal today.
Acting on an information received through reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal at Naka Tapyal, intercepted a Mahindra Bolero load carrier bearing Registration Number JK08F/9894 for checking.
During checking, four bovine were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission and were tied in a cruel manner.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 119/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station (PS) Ghagwal and investigation started.
All the bovines were shifted to a safer places and the vehicle used for transportation was also seized.
