RAJOURI, Sept 24: The two -day long Pahari Conference organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages concluded here, today with writers and scholars stressing on popularization and promotion of the language and literature.
A paper reading session and Mushaira were held on the second day today. Raja Nazar Bonyari, Nisar Rahi Abdul Rashid Qureshi and Dr Abdul Haque Nayeemi read out their papers on various topics pertaining to Pahari language. The session was presided over by Zaffar Iqbal Khan Manhas and Dr Sabir Mirza.
The Mushaira was presided over by Rashid Qamar, Feroz -ud -Din Beigh, Talib Hussain Malik and Muhammad Iqbal Malik, Dr Sabir Mirza, Mohammed Azeem Khan, Dr Liaqat Jafri, Swami Anter Neeru, Maqbool Sahil and Liaqat Nayyer were among the 30 poets who recited their poems.
The Conference was inaugurated yesterday by Vice Chairman, J&K Advisory Board for Development of Pahari speaking people, Kafil -ur- Rehman.
The conference was the fourth in the series of language conferences organized by the Academy since October last. Earlier conferences were held about Kashmiri, Dogri and Punjabi languages.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Farooq Anwar Mirza, Chief Editor Pahari.
