UDHAMPUR, Aug 12: Flash floods claimed life of a minor girl, who was found drowned in Bhayala Nallah in Ramnagar, last evening.
According to Police, the deceased girl, namely Sharda Devi (14), daughter of Gian Chand Bhagat, resident of Bhayala in Tehsil Ramnagar, drowned in Bhayala Nallah yesterday and her dead body was recovered in the late evening.
She left the home for some domestic work but did not return. Finding her missing, the family members searched for the girl and found the umbrella, she was carrying, lying near the Nallah. The family immediately approached Ramnagar Police following which SDPO Ramnagar Dr Bhishm Dubey and SHO Ramnagar Pushpinder Singh along with Police party and SDRF team reached the spot and fished out dead body of the girl.
Later, the dead body was shifted to SDH Ramnagar where a post mortem was conducted today by a board of doctors. Besides handing over the body to family members for the last rites, Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
