JAMMU, Sept 24: Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) while rejecting the Government proposal of constructing clusters at district head quarters for the settlement of displaced KPs reiterated its demand for construction of a satellite township in Kashmir valley.
In a joint statement issued here, today M L Thusoo president of the organization and its convener, P L Koul Badgami said the township should be with constitutional guarantees, minority status and reservation in the legislature.
They said in view of the prevailing situation in Kashmir where the Devbandi School of thought has become a dominating factor, the return of Pandits to their ancestral inhabitations or clusters at district headquarters was not possible.
The KHC leaders also expressed concern over the stoic silence maintained by UPA Government over the activities of anti social and anti national organizations. It resolved to fight for the identity and age old heritage of Pandits who have been neglected for last quarter century endangering their annihilation from the surface.
