JAMMU, Aug 16: Two persons died of COVID-19 yesterday in Jammu and Kashmir taking toll to 4779.
One casualty each was reported from Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Kashmir division has so far recorded 2432 COVID fatalities and Jammu 2347.
Meanwhile, 217 persons today tested positive for the virus in the UT including 204 in Kashmir and 13 in Jammu.
In the Jammu division, six cases were registered in Samba district, three in Reasi, two in Jammu and one each in Rajouri and Ramban districts. Rest of the districts in the region didn’t report any cases.
The UT now has 3757 active positive cases including 3180 in Kashmir and 577 in Jammu.
An official said that 614 Covid-19 patients recovered today-129 from Jammu division and 485 from Kashmir Valley.
The J&K yesterday reported 273 Covid-19 cases with 34 reported from Jammu division and 239 from Kashmir.
