Insurance employees oppose economic policies of UPA Govt

JAMMU, Sept 25: Insurance employees under the banner of Northern Zone Insurance Employees Association (NZIEA) held lunch hour demonstration across J&K against the economic policies of the UPA Government.
At Jammu, the protest demonstration was led by Rajesh Gupta, Raj Kumar, SK Bhat, Vikram, Assem and Kishore.
The demonstration was held against inflation especially of food products, increasing unemployment, dis-investment of public sector, against insurance laws amendment Bill 2008, against recently passed PFRDA Bill and against new pension scheme.
The protestors were demanding strict implementation of Labour Laws and minimum wages of Rs 10,000 per month.
While speaking, Ramesh Chand, DO Cell, Jammu condemned the economic policies of the UPA Government and said that inequality has risen to a big extent after the start of liberalization of economic policies since 1991.
Dinesh warned the Central Government to do away with these non-liberal economic policies, which are not in the national interest and also not in the interest of the working class.
At Srinagar, the demonstration was led by HU Koul, Hilal Ahmad, JA Bukhari, Hamid-Ullah Bhat.
At Kathua, the protest was held under the leadership of Kamal Kishore, whereas in Samba under Mohan Lal, in RS Pura under Jagdeesh Raj, in Udhampur under Ravinder and in Rajouri under Khaliq Hussain.
The protest demonstrations across the State were held under the leadership of Pawan Gupta, Divisional Secretary, NZIEA and AM Tantray, Divisional President.
