GBDYB demands immediate relief to rains, quake hit people

JAMMU, Sept 25: Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakarwal Desh Youth Body (GBDYB) has criticized the State and Central Governments for their failure to provide relief to the earthquake affected people of district Doda and its adjoining areas, who had suffered huge losses.
Addressing a press conference, Choudhary Nazakat Khatana, State president, GBDYB, said that he has recently visited district Doda, Bhadewah, Bhagwa, Desa, Kishtwar, Chattruk, Paddar and Ramban and found that the people whose houses were damaged due to incessant rains and earthquake have not received any relief from State and Central Governments.
During his visit he met many people of the affected areas who suffered lot of damage of crops, houses, animals but till date they are without help, he added.
Khatana urged the State and Central Governments to provide relief package to the affected people at the earliest.
Among others present were Shivali Rani, Jaswant Singh Rao, Shabir Ahmed and Mohammad Yousaf.
