JAMMU, Sept 25: Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority (JDA) KL Khajuria along with team of senior officers today visited Janipur Housing Colony and inspected shopping complex.
Khajuria was accompanied by senior officers of JDA comprising Superintending Engineer, Chief Town Planner, Director Land Management, Executive Engineer JDA Division II and Chief Khilafwarzi Officer.
A delegation of Shopkeepers Association also met the Vice Chairman, JDA and apprised him about their various grievances including sanitation problem, poor water supply, deteriorating condition of park etc.
VC assured them that their demands will be redressed at the earliest. He directed Executive Engineer concerned for renovation of washrooms, fresh drinking water supply and renovation of parks immediately.
Khajuria also directed the Secretary JDA to issue notice to the allottees of closed shops for opening of their establishment otherwise, their allotment will be cancelled.
He also visited the Office of the Chairman, Special Tribunal and directed the Engineering Staff of JDA for renovation of rooms and other urgent repairs by submitting the estimation of works.
Later, Khajuria also visited Transport Nagar, Narwal, where a delegation of Motor Parts Dealers Association, Transport Nagar led by Rajinder Kakkar, Vice Chairman, along with Sham Singh and Nishi Kant Khajuria briefed their grievances like poor sanitation and drainage, dilapidated condition of roads, blocking of nallahs, poor water supply and encroachments made on foot path and dividers etc.
VC JDA assured them a joint drive with the help of Jammu Municipal Corporation will be taken up for the removing of these encroachments and also directed the Superintending Engineer, JDA to take up the matter for reconstruction of nallahs and washed away portion/damaged roads from yard number 1, near ISBT to yard number 7 upto entry point at bye-pass road and also fix the barriers on entry and exit points of Transport Nagar.
