SAMBA, Aug 20: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL)’s sub-office Kathua organized a ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ at Narsingh Temple Ghagwal in connection with the Janamastmi celebrations wherein a large number of people thronged there to witness the soulful programme by the local artists.
Chairman Block Development Council Vijay Tagotra was the chief guest on the occasion who lauded the efforts made by the JKAACL for bringing cultural events to a religious place and asserted that every artist has made him spell bound with their soulful and magical performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeev Gupta SOCA, JKAACL sub-office, Kathua dwelt in detail about the journey of sub-office Kathua since he took charge. He said that they were trying their best of efforts for the preservation and promotion of the Art and Culture of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Jammu is very rich in terms of performing arts and our motive is to take our culture to every house so that the younger generation gets known by its roots. It was the first programme of JKAACL Kathua in Samba this month and we have planned to do more cultural events in Kathua and Samba districts in coming days,” he said.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Bharat Singh JKAS, Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
The programme started with the vibrant singing of CS Katal and party from Samba and concluded with the soulful presentation by Prem Singh and party from Samba. The programme was conducted by Janak Bhardwaj.
