RAMBAN, Aug 21: The 63rd annual Gurmat Samagam was held under the aegis of Mahant Manjit Singh, chief Dera Nangali Sahib at Gurudwara Sant Mela Singh in Batote of Ramban district today.
The Samagam is organised here every year in the memory of all the 12 Mahants, including Sant Mela Singh, Sant Rocha Singh and Sant Vichitar Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib, the first being Mahant Pheru Singh whom Guru Govind Singh had directed to preach Sikhism in the area. Mahant Manjit Singh is the 13th Head of the Dera Nangali Sahib.
On the occasion, 11 prominent Raagi Jathas from across Jammu province enthralled the audience with their Bhajan Keertan besides prominent persons including Mahant Manjit Singh enlightened the devotees with their Katha and Updesh (sermons).
Starting on June 4, a series of 125 Akhand Paath also concluded with a Bhog today. The Samagam concluded with Guru Granth Sahib Paath and Ardas. At last, a Guru ka Langar was also served to the devotees.
