Army organises Medical Camp for orphanage

JAMMU, Aug 22: An outreach program- cum- Medical Camp was organised by the Tiger Division of Indian Army in Jammu district today.
The event was organised with the aim of providing assistance to the orphans and help and guide them towards their well being.
In keeping with the theme of the 56th AWWA Week celebrations in “Stride with the Future” this noble initiative included a lecture by Gynecologist on personnel health and hygiene for adolescent girls, Covid vaccination drive and routine check-up by pediatrician for children.
On the occasion Ministry of AAYUSH had also established a kiosk and provided free immunity boosters to the children.
A presentation on `Agniveer Scheme’ was also conducted for children above 17 years who were keen to join the Army.
The event culminated with a felicitation, wherein aid in the form of books, stationery, toys, sports items and clothes were presented to the children of the orphanage by Anita Pandey, Chairperson, Family Welfare Organisation of Indian Army.
