JAMMU, Aug 24: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Baldev Singh Billawaria started the construction work of laying of paver tile at ward 2 Bathindi Panchayat in Bahu assembly constituency.
This construction work will be executed by the Public Works Department (PWD) at a cost of around Rs 22 lakhs.
Billawaria was accompanied by BJP’s ST Morcha State President Haroon Choudhary, Sarpanch Hafiz Choudhary, Panches and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria said that there was a demand for a long time that this development work should be done as the condition of this lane was very pathetic. He said that with the deteriorated condition of the lane, the passersby were facing great hardship while walking through the area now after the completion of this construction work people will get a lot of relief.
He directed the concerned Engineers and contractor to complete the work within the stipulated time frame by use of best quality construction material for its long durability and upto the satisfaction of locals.
Billawaria said that as per the delimitation process of the central Government for the first time 9 assembly seats have been reserved for the ST community, this has fulfilled the long standing demand of Gujjar and Bakarwal community. He said that this step will empower the community and help in eradicating poverty and inequality.
He said that now the day is not far when the representatives of ST society will also represent their society in the J&K assembly. He said that BJP is the largest political party in the country and every worker of the party is working hard to strengthen the party at the grassroot level.
BJP ST President Haroon Choudhary said that many development works were done by Billawaria in Ward 56 Gangyal as a result of which Gangyal has emerged as Modern Ward. He said that he is confident that he will make other areas of Bahu assembly constituency as developed areas on the lines of Gangyal.
