JAMMU, Aug 25: The lawyers, who are on agitation demanding construction of multi storey complex in the Janipur Court area for housing various judicial and quasi-judicial institutions like CAT, Consumer Court, Registration authorities, DRT, AFT, Human Rights Commission etc, for about a month observed complete suspension of work in the High court, Subordinate Courts, Revenue Courts, Tribunals and all other courts today.
Several political parties, traders, transporters and social organizations have already extended their full support to the demands projected by the Bar Association. The demand for construction of multi storey complex in the Janipur court area is in public interest and is meant for the convenience of the public and the lawyers who can be benefited by availability of the various courts in the same locality.
This evening, the members of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, gathered in front of Brahman Sabha, Prade and took out a Mashaal Rally which passed through various bazaars of the old Jammu city including Moti Bazar, Pacca Danga, Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, Kanak Mandi, Rajinder Bazar, Residency Road and Raghunath Bazar.
The lawyers appealed to the shopkeepers and the public of Jammu to observe complete Bandh on 29th August, 2022 (Monday) in support of the demands of the Bar Association for construction of multi storey complex in Janipur court area.
President of Bar M.K. Bhardwaj was leading the rally with participation of senior lawyers namely H C Jalmeria, J P Gandhi, Babu Ram Sharma, Subodh Singh Jamwal, Ajay Vaid, Sachin Gupta, Baldev Singh (Jr),Narinder Shamra, Umesh Sharma and other office bearers namely Mohinder Pal Singh Palli, Vice President, Surjeet Singh Andotra, General Secretary, Aditya Sharma, Joint Secretary, Amandeep Singh, Treasurer and team of Young Lawyers Association namely Rohit Sharma, President, Gagandeep Singh Lucky, Vice President, Yaseer Farooq Khan, General Secretary, Karanjeet Singh Johal, Joint Secretary and Naresh Kumar Treasurer.
