JAMMU, Aug 25: Activists of Mahila Congress under the leadership of former MLA, Indu Pawar, president of Pradesh Mahila Congress, organized “Mehangai Pe Charcha” programme at Raipur- Satwari in Jammu to expose pro-rich policies being pursued by the BJP-led government at the Centre.
A large number of women from different sections of society attended the programme and expressed their anguish over the unprecedented hike in the prices of essential commodities.
Addressing the function, Indu Pawar regretted that the BJP-led government at the Centre has failed to control the prices of the essential commodities. She said that instead of controlling the prices of essential commodities the government is pursuing policies to give benefits to capitalists and big bussiness houses at the cost of the poor.
She regretted that instead of controlling prices of essential commodities BJP led NDA government at the Centre is hiking the prices of all items.
“Prices of all commodities are hiking with every passing day and BJP Governments is unmoved by the plight of the people,” she said and reminded that before 2014 general elections, BJP used to hold protests against price rise but now the same BJP has maintained a criminal silence on the compounding woes of the common masses.
Pawar further regretted that every section of the society is bearing brunt of the anti-poor policies of the Narendra Modi led government at the Centre.
She said Mahila Congress has started a district-wise “Mehangai Pe Charcha” against the economic policies of the Modi Government.
