KATRA, Sept 27: The Tourism Department celebrated World Tourism Day today with the installation of LED-Video Digital System at tourism office bus stand here.
Additional CEO, SMVDSB, Katra, M K Bhandari was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Tourism, Soujanya Sharma apprised that the aim of installation system is for promotion and publicity of various tourist and religious spots of Jammu region to facilitate the visiting pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi at the base camp Katra town where thousands of pilgrims arrive daily from across the country. He further said that the theme of this year World Tourism Day is tourism and water, so we should pay special attention towards preservation of water resources.
Among others Deputy Director Tourism, Jammu, Dr Subash Chander, Assistant Director Tourism Katra, Vinakshi Koul, President Travel Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Vice President H&R, Rakesh Wazir, President Cultural Association, Virender Kesar, prominent citizens including Sardari Lal Dubey and others were present.
