JKNC, SUF, others support Jammu Bandh call on Aug 29

JAMMU, Aug 26: J&K National Conference (JKNC) and several other organizations have supported Jammu bandh call of J&K High Court Bar Association on Aug 29.
Former minister and president, Central Zone JKNC, Babu Rampaul today called an urgent meeting of office bearers to discuss the issue. The office bearers unanimously decided to extend their full support to the Jammu Bar Association. Rampaul said that the Jammu Bar Association has been protesting in support of their genuine demands and he urged the LG Govt to give favorable consideration to their demands and be accepted at the earliest without further delay as it has generated anguish among the advocates, which is bound to aggravate, if no heed is paid.
“Govt must construct a multi-storey building for housing the tribunal, courts for carrying out all judicial work including registration work, CAT, DRT, AFT, Consumer Form and other tribunals within the court premises in Jammu as per the demand of the Jammu Bar Association,” he further added.
Dr Vikas Sharma, Adv Rajinder Chanyal, Om Dalmotra, Rahul Mahajan, Adv Aslam Choudhary, Adv Anwar Choudhary, Adv Lovish Bharat, Ashok Attri (Retd DIG), Udhay Singh, Bharat Bhushan, Adv Depinder Kour, Sandesh Shan, Amrish Sharma, Sham Lal Mehra, Dr YP Singh and others attended the meeting.
Sikh United Front led by S S Wazir also supported bandh call given by Bar Association Jammu and urged upon the LG’s Administration to address the genuine demands raised by Bar Association in the larger interests of Jammu people. Several Sikh bodies also supported the cause.
Meanwhile, Vegetable and Fruit Association president, S Surinder Singh Kala, Sabzi Mandi Narwal president Ashwani Sharma today declared that due to the strike on coming Monday Aug 29, the Association stand with the Bar Association Jammu. SS Kala said that demands raised by Bar Association should be fulfilled by the Government.
SOS International, an organization of POJK Displaced persons has also extended support to the Bar Association Jammu for bandh call on Aug 29. Chairman, of the SOS Intl Rajiv Chuni said that demanded of the Jammu lawyers fraternity are genuine and LG’s administration must address the same.
