JAMMU, Aug 26: Bus Stand and Satwari Police arrested two drug peddlers including a lady along with contraband.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Bus Stand led by SHO Inspector Vishal Shoor under the supervision of SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SP City Kulbir Handa laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 16.300 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Lovedeep Singh alias Labbu, son of Kewal Singh, a resident of Kot Mehtab Tehsil Beas Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 42/2022 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Satwari led by SHO Inspector Sameer Jiilani under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma during patrolling intercepted a lady.
During frisking, police team recovered 50 grams heroin from the possession of the lady and arrested him.
The arrested lady was identified as Ravinder Kour alias Bhabhi, wife of Iqbal Singh, a resident of Ward Number 1 Bhour Camp Chatha.
A case under FIR Number 156/2022 under section 8/20/21/22/27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation initiated.
