Driver attempts kidnap, molestation of school girl

Srinagar, Aug 26: Police today rescued a girl student from a 56-year-old school bus driver who had attempted her kidnapping and molestation.
A police official said that on a specific information a Police team headed by SHO Verinag Tajamul Islam Wani under Supervision of SDPO Dooru Dr Ishan Gupta and SHO Dooru Syed Nazir Indrabi reached in the forests of Koot Forest range Verinag where a 56 years old driver Abdul Hamid Rather son of Ghulam Rasool Rather of Batagund Dooru Diver of School bus Bearing number JK03E 2533 of Sir Syed Memorial Institute Dooru Shahabad had attempted to kidnap and rape a 14 years old girl student.
He said that the driver had parked the school bus in dense forests in Koot area of Tehsil Shahabad Bala and started to molest the school girl after which the girl started crying loudly.
The official said that a number of locals rushed towards the spot and informed the police who reached the spot and traced out the girl with the help of locals.
An FIR Bearing Number 87/2022 have been registered in Police Station Verinag.
According to statement by family members of the girl, the driver was trying to molest the girl for last many days and accused School Administration of negligence.
