JAMMU, Sept 27:  Chairman of National Panthers Party and MLA Ramnagar,  Harshdev Singh has accused the Coalition Government in the State of effecting 25% cut in various development plans.
In a press statement issued today, the MLA alleged that despite being approved in the District Development Board meetings, the cut has been imposed in the plans. He pointed out that DDBs were allocated funds after thoroughly scrutinizing the availability during the current year as approved under the State Annual Plan by the Govt of India.  Now effecting curtailment in the plan funds, was intriguing and mischievous, he added.
The NPP leader alleged that Government was saving funds to be utilized through back door  and in violation of financial norms in certain selected and favourite constituencies.  He also flayed the Government for with holding funds under various Centrally sponsored schemes despite the lapse of  six months.
Mr Singh also questioned the rationale behind release of a special package of Rs 35 crore to Srinagar district  to the exclusion of  all other districts under the garb of Special Area Development  Programme  and called upon the Government to explain the criteria adopted for the purpose.
