JAMMU, Aug 27: The statue of great philanthropist, social reformer and man of prolific wisdom, Satpal Langer was unveiled by Dr. J.G Lanagar, HoD Surgery (Retired) Government Medical College Jammu.
The statue was installed by his (Satpal Langer’s) son, Dr. Nitin Langer and his family members at a small hillock in village Kainth Gali, Pancheri Block, Udhampur.
Satpal Langer was a multifaceted personality who did a lot for the upliftment of that area so as to bring it on the tourist map of the district.
He was an institution in himself and was instrumental in solving many family disputes besides being an elite member of various social organizations and held various positions to serve the humanity through these institutions and organizations.
The unveiling function was attended by family members of Satpal Langer, his friends, colleagues, admirers and prominent people of the area which he nursed throughout his life.
Everybody present on the occasion paid rich tributes by garlanding the statue of Satpal Langer.
A Havan was organised on this occasion.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Baldev Singh, Jia Lal Sharma, Sarpanch, Panch and others.
