SURANKOTE, Aug. 28: District unit of Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), Poonch launched its significant ‘Youth Jodo Booth Jodo’ campaign here today.
The campaign was launched under the leadership of Jagdev Gaga, National general secretary Indian Youth Congress and PYC general secretary Madasar Ahmed and Sikander Hayat. The campaign is aimed to strengthen the Congress Party at the grass roots level across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing a huge gathering at the functioned in connection with the launching of this ‘Youth Jodo Booth Jodo’ campaign, Jagdev Gaga stressed upon the Youth Congress workers and activists to motivate the youth at booth level to join the Congress Party that played a vital role in India’s freedom struggle and thereafter during its rule across the nation.
“Through Panchayati Raj, he brought authority and power to the doorsteps of the villages. When there was an atmosphere of instability in the country, it was Rajiv Gandhi who followed the path of Bapu and kept the country united through peace agreements,” he added.
Gaga said that objective of motivating the youth at booth level to join the Congress party can be easily achieved by making the youth aware about the achievements made during the Congress rule and at the same time making them aware about the mis-governance and wrong policies of the BJP Govt at the Centre.
Madasar Ahmed said that BJP believes in ‘Jumlas’ and befools the people by making promises never to be fulfilled. With special reference to Jammu and Kashmir, he said that the Union Govt made tall claims of improvement in all the sectors after abrogation of Article 370 but the fact remains that this abrogation further deteriorated the situation across J&K.
PYC gen secy Sikander Hayat assured the senior party leader Gaga that the party workers and activists including the senior cadre will leave no stone unturned in further strengthening the party at booth level by motivating more and more youth into the party fold.
AYC president Asif Bajjar, Ajaz Chouhan, Sarfraz Kassana and Asif Khan also spoke on the occasion.
