SAMBA, Aug 28: A girl was killed and two other people had a narrow escape in a road accident near Chichi Mata Temple on Jammu -Pathankot National Highway in Samba district today.
According to police, Ramesh Kumar along with his wife and sister were on way to Samba town from Mangal village near Sankha on a motorcycle. As soon as they reached near Chichi Mata temple, the bike was hit by a superfast bus of Jammu-Kathua route coming from behind. The bus crushed Shalu to death who died on the spot and the driver along with bus fled from the spot. The other two persons riding on the motorcycle had narrow escape.
The police rushed to the spot and the body was brought to the District Hospital Samba (DHS) where after doing the postmortem it was handed over to the family for the last rites. The police have also registered a case in this context and started investigation. It has also launched search for the driver and bus.
