Phata Poster Nikhla Hero is very different from Barfi!. How was the entire experience?
It was a roller coaster ride. It was complete madness. And working with Rajji (director Rajkumar Santoshi) is something else. His comic timing is so unbelievably precise and brilliant that you have to copy it exactly the way he does it; which is very difficult.
How was working with your Phata Poster Nikhla Hero co-star Shahid Kapoor?
Working with Shahid is very different from working with Ranbir (Kapoor) in Barfi!. Shahid and I are so spontaneous that it became very easy working with him. Phata Poster Nikhla Hero (shooting) was fun. And it is a fresh pairing on screen. So I am sure people are going to love our chemistry.
What is the difference between working with Shahid and working with Ranbir?
I don’t know both of them extremely well. They are both unique in their own ways. Shahid has his on kind of fan following. Ranbir is a charmer and very easy to talk to. Shahid takes a little time to open up. But he is very easy to work with as well. I enjoyed working with both of them.
Generally heroines get linked to heroes when you are working together. Why such things never happen in your case?
I don’t know why everybody always asks me these questions. Even during Barfi! people used to ask me how come nothing happened (between Ranbir and me). May be, because I am a very boring girl.
What inspired you to become an actress?
There was nothing that inspired me. I never wanted to be an actress. Acting happened to me. It chose me, I didn’t choose it.
Do you have a list of favourite Bollywood films?
I liked 3 Idiots (2009). Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) is an all time favourite as it had Kajol in it … I love all films that have Kajol in them.
So Kajol is your favourite actress?
Kajol is Number 1. I like Rani Mukherji too.
Which Bollywood hero would you love to romance on screen?
Bollywood has some really good-looking and talented men whom I would love to romance on screen. I already got the opportunity to do so with one of them in my first Hindi film (Ranbir Kapoor). Now I want to work with Aamir (Khan), Shah Rukh (Khan), Salman (Khan), Hrithik (Roshan), Imran (Khan) and Arjun (Kapoor).
Is marriage on the cards at the moment?
As of now, nothing in the near future. But then, we never know what’s going to happen in our life in future, anything can happen. But right now, I am focusing on my career.
Your Indian look in Barfi! was much appreciated. Will you try an Indian outfit on your engagement day, if not on your wedding?
I don’t know. I never thought of getting engaged in an Indian outfit. But on second thoughts, why not! But whatever be the outfit, I have to feel like a princess in it.
What will be your dream wedding?
I would go for a nice, comfortable, easy gown; barefoot on the beach … with just close family. (TWF)
