Jammu boy Onkar Singh honored by Nobel Laureate

JAMMU, Aug 29: Jammu’s prodigy Onkar Singh was recently honored by Sir Richard J Roberts, a 1993 Nobel Laureate in Medicine with the Global Child Prodigy Awards at Al Jaddaf, Dubai.
On the 20th of August, an award ceremony took place in Marriott Al Jaddaf, Dubai in which top 100 prodigies from all around the globe were honored. Out of the hundred, Jammu lad Onkar was honored as the Child Prodigy of 2022 for his achievements in Science and Technology.
Onkar has been in news for his accolades including the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar – 2022.
The event was graced by the presence of Nahyan bin Mubarak al-Nahyan, the Minister of Tolerance and Co-existence, Government of UAE and Sir Richard J Roberts, FRS, a British scientist and a 1993 Nobel Prize Laureate in Medicine and Physiology. Azad Moopen, the chairman of Aster Limited, the largest medical company of UAE also graced the occasion.
“I had a brief conversation with Sir Richard and Mr Moopen about the work I am doing. While telling Mr Moopen about my profile, he told me that his company would send an Indian to the moon in near future and as a reply, I told him that we’re sending the first open-source satellite of India to space within this year,” said Onkar.
Onkar is a world record holder and was awarded with the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar from the President of India in the year 2020.
