JAMMU, Aug 29: Apni Party provincial president Jammu and Former Minister, Manjit Singh said that the unemployed are in mental distress and feel cheated following the continuous scams in recruitment and cancellation of the selection lists.
Addressing a public meeting in Vijaypur, the former Minister said that the people are in anguish against the Government’s inability to conduct a fair and transparent recruitment process.
“The recruitments whichever were conducted after 2014 turned out to be a major scam and in many cases, the recruitments have been delayed and then the selection list was ultimately quashed following allegations. The genuine candidates who get selected in the recruitment processes also face the axe and many of them have become over aged,” he said.
The growing unease among the unemployed and young generation is unprecedented and this has happened for the first time in the history of J&K that recruitment after recruitments, the Government has cancelled all of them, he added.
He said that “The investigation should be pointed towards the selectee and officials responsible for malpractice in the recruitment process instead of punishing all the selected candidates. This is injustice with the unemployed and deserving candidates who prepare for competition for years and then their selection lists get cancelled.”
He therefore appealed to the Government to adopt a humanitarian attitude while handling such issues and punish accused persons not the innocent people.
Meanwhile, he welcomed a dozen of youth who joined Apni Party after they were impressed with the Party’s agenda and development towards the Jammu and Kashmir regions. He hoped that their joining would strengthen the party.
