3-day workshop on studying abroad concludes at KU

SRINAGAR, Aug 31: A three-day mentoring workshop on ‘Studying Abroad’ concluded today at University of Kashmir (KU).
The workshop, which was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan, was organized by Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC) in collaboration with EduAccess, a non-profit initiative working for promotion of higher education.
During the workshop, interactive and hands-on sessions were held for school, college and university students on opportunities available for higher studies and fully funded scholarships abroad, particularly in the United Kingdom. Several hands-on sessions were conducted wherein students were trained by foreign-returned graduates in writing CVs, Personal Statements, Statements of Purpose, Research Proposals for PhD, finding scholarships, choosing research supervisors and related aspects of pursuing higher studies abroad.
During the valedictory session, Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir, Registrar of the University, was the chief guest, who expressed his satisfaction about the design and conduct of the workshop.
Thanking the guest speakers and students, Director CCPC, Prof Geer M Ishaq appreciated the philanthropic spirit with which EduAccess team members are working to guide the students of underprivileged communities.
