UDHAMPUR, Aug 31: To take governance to the people’s doorsteps and ensure timely redress of their grievances, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna today conducted public outreach cum grievances redressal camp here at Block Ghordi.
BDC Chairman, Arti Sharma, DDC Councillor, Rakesh Chander Sharma, ADDC, Anu Behl, SDM, Gopal Singh, Sarpanches, Panches and a large number of people from adjoining Panchayat of the Block attended the outreach camp and projected several issues and demands like detachment of teachers those who were attached in other departments, additional Ambulance for Gordhi hospital, additional class rooms in GHSS, Ghordi, ex-gratia relief to landslide victims, Pending payment of Swach Bharat mission, Maintenance of Roads under PMGSY and PWD, Shortage of staff in educational and health institutions, Shifting of wooden electric poles, New bus service from Udhampur to Ghordi and RTC service from Udhampur to Marhada Mata area, Paucity of drinking water in various schools and other areas of the block, Start Vaccination for animals, settled old age pension case, organise awareness camps for animal disease,
After listening to the issues and demands of the PRIs and general public of the area, the DC directed concerned officers to mitigate the sufferings of the people on priority basis.
The DDC said that the objective of holding such public grievance redressal camps was to get direct insight into the public problems. She also made the people aware about the various Government schemes. The DC directed the officers of different departments to organize awareness camps in their respective areas and to educate the general public about various government schemes so that they can avail maximum benefits. The DC also said the administration is keen to provide better infrastructure in rural areas.
After concluding Block Diwas, the DC inspected ongoing developmental works of lane drain.
