Srinagar, Sept 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Services Commissions’ (JKPSC) date for conducting prelims examination of Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) clashes with the second-tier examination of Combined Graduate Level (CGL) conducted by Staff Services Commission (SSC) despite repeated requested by the candidates for separate dates for these examinations.
Students, who have already qualified SSC’s 1st tier exams and intend to write KAS exams, are in catch 22 situation as which exam to write and which one to do away with.
A candidate Gowhar Abdullah says he has qualified the tier-first examination of CGL conducted by SSC, results of which have been declared early this month, and intends to write KAS prelims. He has decided to go for the latter and feels his hard-work and time that was put to SSC exam has been wasted due to the clash.
Candidates say that they have raised the issue several times with the concerned authorities but to no avail.
