JAMMU, Sept 2: Academic Unit III of JK-SCERT, Jammu Division, concluded five-day workshop on “Development of Manuals on Content Awareness, Enrichment and Pedagogical Skills in Teaching of Mathematics” for Secondary level Teacher/Masters.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of H R Pakhroo, Joint Director JKSCERT, Jammu by the Head of Academic Unit III, Surjeet Kumar Sharma (Professor), Ashu Magotra, Academic Officer (Programme Co-ordinator), Rakesh Chobbar, Sr Academic Officer (Associate Co-ordinator) and Rohit Sharma, Sr Academic Officer (Associate Co-ordinator).
The programme was attended by 60 teachers/Masters from 10 Districts of Jammu Division, six from each District. The participants were trained by the Resource Persons having proficiency in mathematics. The resource persons of the programme were Jagdish Raj Panotra, Harish Kumar Sharma, Ankur Gupta, Naresh Kumar Jain, Arun Dutta, Hardev Kumar and Vishal Anand.
The purpose of this workshop was to enhance and upgrade the teaching skills and to develop competency of the teachers to teach Mathematics using the specific pedagogical tool of manuals to stimulate interest among the students in learning of Mathematics. The joint Director SCERT (J&K), Jammu, while addressing the participants in the valedictory session of the programme, encouraged them to promote the pedagogical and innovative skills at the grass root level to develop creativity and the ability to think, communicate and solve mathematical problems.
The participants were also addressed by Professors Surjeet Kumar, Swarn Singh, Associate Professor, Neeraj Jandial, Academic officers Rakesh Chobbar & Rohit Sharma. The vote of thanks was presented by Ashu Magotra Sr Academic Officer and coordinator of the programme. The training ended with the distribution of certificates to the participants and resource persons by Joint Director JKSCERT Jammu.
