JAMMU, Sept 4: People belonging to SC, ST and OBC communities are reeling under miserable conditions as the J&K Administration has failed to provide justice to underprivileged sections of the society.
This was stated today by Rattan Lal Gupta, provincial president National Conference (NC) Jammu while addressing a meeting of the Party’s SC Cell at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu. The meeting was organized by Vijay Lochan, president JKNC SC Cell.
Addressing the meeting, the senior NC leader highlighted the plight of downtrodden strata of the society, which according to him is facing the wrath of apathetic dispensation in J&K as none of their demands have been conceded since the LG’s Administration has taken over the reins of the Union Territory.
Gupta categorically said that the present regime has miserably failed to address the issues of SC, OBC and ST communities. The senior NC functionary said that except lip service nothing has been provided to the underprivileged sections of the society.
“There is no governance on the ground as people are being deprived of basic facilities”, he said, adding that the aforesaid communities are even deprived of centrally sponsored schemes due to delay in certificate issuance.
“There is no one in the administration to look into the issues of SCs, STs and OBCs as they have been treated shabbily under present regime”, Gupta said adding that it is only NC, which can ensure justice to the SC, ST and OBCs and for this the people will have to repose faith in the party.
Later, Vijay Lochan with the approval of Rattan Lal Gupta, announced the name of Krishan Lal as president for SC Cell District Samba.
Among others present during the meeting include Sheikh Bashir Ahmed (provincial secretary JKNC), Abdul Gani Malik (zonal president Reasi & Udhampur), Sudager Chand Gupta (district president Samba), Rajni Devi (district president, Women Cell), Sat Pal and Joginder Pal (block presidents).
