JAMMU, Sept 29: State president, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF), Anil Gupta, started the slab work of newly constructed hall in Vishwakarma Temple at Gurha, Bakshi Nagar, here today.
The hall is being constructed from Constituency Develo-pment Fund (CDF) of MLA Chaman Lal Gupta on recommendation of Anil Gupta. In this regard Rs 10 lakh already stands released from the CDF of MLA.
The work was inaugurated by Anil Gupta in the presence of Vishwakarma Biradari president, Vijay Kumar, general secretary, Jagdish Kumar and officials of JMC.
Senior citizens, management committee of Community Hall, senior JKDF activists and people from Vishwakarma Biradari were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta said, “With the start of the work, one of the long pending demand of people has been fulfilled. This Community Hall would cater to the needs of people particularly poor ones who can not afford costly accommodation for performing their social and religious rituals. It will be our endeavor to provide such facilities in other wards of Jammu West where it is required.It will be our endeavor to complete the Hall before forthcoming Vishwakarma Diwas”.
He said many works like black topping of roads, construction of lanes, drains and electrical maintenance has been carried out in various wards on initiative of JKDF. The Front will always strive to become the voice and popular platform of people where the genuine and logical demands of people shall be projected and highlighted, he added.
Vijay Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
