SDM, Tehsildar hold ‘Public Darbar’ at Chowki Choura

JAMMU, Sept 6: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Virender Gupta and Dr Raman Jandyal, Tehsildar, Chowki Choura conducted a ‘Public Darbar’ in village Basawa of Sub Division Chowki Choura to redress the grievances of its villagers, here today.
The SDM was accompanied by Assistant Executive Engineers of the various departments, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, ZPEO and representative of Block Development Officer Chowki Choura. The Tehsildar Chowki Choura welcomed the participants and urged them to project their demands one by one.
Sarpanch Choura applauded the effort of the SDM for visiting in the area and raised the issue of lack of road-connectivity as the villagers have to travel on foot a stretch of 4 kilometres through a water-body.
“The people facing hardships during the rainy season as the school-going students, sick-persons as well as daily bread-earners face a very challenging task to reach to their destinations as no bridge or a link road has been constructed for them,” he said.
The SDM constituted a committee on the spot, consisting of AEE, PWD and two stakeholders each from Village Kannah and Basawa to prepare a DPR for construction of the above said road and directed them to submit the same within a fortnight. He directed the AEE, PWD to make the temporary arrangement by putting ‘Hume Pipes’ at the requisite places of water-body.
The PRI members urged the SDM to solve the problem of water crisis in their area as the existing Dug-Well was in pathetic condition. The AEE of the concerned department was directed to visit the spot, take the assessment of repair work and get the needful done within a week’s time positively.
The SDM assured that either Allopathic or Ayush Health Centre shall be made functional very soon. Moreover, the Block Medical Officer, Chowki Choura was telephonically directed to depute any health official on alternate days of the week to meet the crisis in the area and assured that the transformers at Kannah and Takaiyan Mohalla would be installed soon along with blacktopping tractor road from Govt Middle School to Lower Basawa.
The PRIs also raised the issue of allotment of PMAY houses to the needy before the SDM.
