Durganagar residents plea to Lt Governor

JAMMU, Sept 6: A joint meeting of Durganagar Welfare Committees of Sector-01,02 and 03 along with members of the Committees was held under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina, president of Sector-01 and 03 and Sanjay Ganjoo president Sector-02 and its extension and discussed the water scarcity problem in the area faced by people for last two months.
The representatives of the committees took up the issue with concerned officers of Jal Shakti and got the motors repaired and one stand by motor was also got installed in the area.
However, the water supply was disturbed again after a loaded truck hit some electric poles supplying power to the PHE Feeder Number 9 and 10.
With the intervention of the representatives of the Committees the issue was taken up with concerned engineers of PDD who immediately got the power supply restored to the area.
The representatives of the Committees also sought the attention of Lt. Governor to release ration quota i.e Rice, Atta and Sugar of three months as migrants are purchasing such items from the market which they can’t afford in these hard days.
They also met PHE authorities to execute the work of making Tubewell (Durganagar) functional within days as tendering date is over and work has been allotted.
