JAMMU, Sept 8: Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, DG NCC visited NCC Training Academy at Nagrota here today.
On arrival at the Academy, he was given a befitting guard of honour by NCC cadets of 2 J&K Battalion NCC.
This was followed by briefing by the Camp Commandant, Col Rajesh Jasrotia on the conduct of camp and conduct of training of cadets.
The DG NCC witnessed training of cadets under the supervision of Army Instructors. He was also shown small arms firing by cadets including simulator training.
The highlight of the DG’s visit was his joint address to the officers, associate NCC officers and cadets including in virtual mode to all institutes having NCC cadets in UTs of J&K and Ladakh.
He highlighted the role of NCC in national integration and creating future leaders with a sense of discipline and secular outlook and led the society with the Ideals of selfless service.
After his address, DG NCC felicitated the meritorious NCC officers (ANOs) and cadets for their achievements and interacted with media personnel.
The DG NCC appreciated the efforts of NCC training staff and cadets and exhorted all stake holders to live upto the motto of NCC “Unity and Discipline”.
