Farewell parade conducted for retiring police officer

Director SKPA, Farooq Khan (IGP) being given grand farewell at Udhampur on Monday.

Udhampur, Sept 30: Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy today accorded a befitting farewell to its Director, Farooq Khan who retired from Police Service on attaining superannuation.
A strong contigent of 10 platoons conducted march-pasts followed by colourful band display. Large gathering of civilian guests and police officers attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion retiring officer (IGP) thanked God for giving him an opportunity to take salute of the farewell parade at the place, where he received sword of honour on the completion of his induction training in 1985 as DySP. He said he always took pride in Khaki and it has been his way of life.
Jt. Director Academy Parminder Singh, (DIG) and Sr. Prosecuting Officer Manzar Khayam honoured the outgoing director.
Mr Khan, also inaugurated the Police Academy’s own website which has been developed due to his personal efforts and interest which would put the Academy on the internet world. All the information, activities, programmes and projects of the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy would now be available on its official website (www.jkskpa.org).
The staff and trainee officers bade farewell to Farooq Khan in an emotional atmosphere.
