JAMMU, Sept 30: Akhnoor police today arrested a bootlegger and recovered 45 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Akhnoor Police Station laid a naka at fawara chowk and intercepted one pedestrian namely Jeet Raj, son of Kartar Chand of Kanga Jagier.
During search, 45 pouches of JK Excise liquor were recovered from his possession and he was arrested subsequently, he added.
A case under FIR number 221/13 and under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered and investigation started.
