JAMMU, Sept 30: Up in arms against alleged denial of permission by the Rector Bhaderwah Campus for celebrating birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the NSF activists held a protest demonstration in Jammu University as well as the Bhaderwah Campus.
Shouting slogans against the Rector Prof. M A Malik, the protesting NSF activists demanded his immediate removal for his alleged remarks undermining the stature of Bhagat Singh.
As per the protesters, September 28, students of Bhaderwah Campus had approached the Rector for permission to celebrate birthday of Bhagat Singh at the hostel wherein Major Mayank of Rashtriya Rifle (RR) Bhaderwah was invited as chief guest.
However, the Rector not only refused permission but also passed some unwanted remarks against Bhagat Singh besides not allowing Major Mayank on the ground that such an activity was not good for the campus.
In Bhaderwah Campus, the NSF activists boycotted their classes and held a protest demonstration. The Campus president Arun Singh and others addressed the protesters.
The NSF president Sukhdev Singh served an ultimatum for removal of the Rector and warned massive agitation if the University does not take any action against the latter.
