AKHNOOR, June 12: An ex-serviceman engaged as SPO died in Police Station Akhnoor under mysterious circumstances last night.
A police official said that SPO Santosh Kumar (51), resident of Migrant Colony Pallwan in Khour, was sleeping in a room at Thana and was found dead on his cot in the morning. He also alleged that the cop was a drunkard. The matter was reported to his family who took the body with them to their home.
Interestingly, the police officers without conducting postmortem, handed over the body to family and it was cremated today. It has invited strong reaction from the public.
