JAMMU, Sept 10: Janipur Police arrested a thief and recovered stolen cash and iphone from his possession.
As per police sources, on September 5 this year a complaint was lodged by a person namely Amit Kumar, son of Sukhdev of Punjab, at present Shivalik Puram with Police Station Janipur stating that unknown thief/thieves had stolen Rs 1.50 lakh cash from his office.
Acting over the complaint, a case under sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
During the course of the investigation, a team from Police Station Janipur led by ASI Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din under the supervision of SHO Janipur Inspector Ajaz Haider and SDPO West Rahul Nagar put in hectic efforts finally nabbed the thief.
The accused was identified as Baljit Singh, son of Gher of Fatehpur District Pathankot Punjab.
On his disclosure, police team recovered Rs 1,10,000 cash and one iPhone.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
