Three drug peddlers arrested with heroin, poppy straw

JAMMU, Sept 10: Bishnah and Banihal Police arrested three drug peddler along with 10 grams heroin and 20 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh laid a naka at Partap Singh Pura and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number PB06AC-9487.
During checking, police team recovered 10 grams heroin from the possession of the motorcyclist and pillion rider and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Sahil Sharma, son of Kewal Sharma and Amit, son of Bishan Dass, both residents of District Samba.
A case under FIR Number 154/2022 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Banihal during checking at T Chowk intercepted an oil tanker nearing registration number JK02CM-4524.
During frisking, police team recovered 20 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Ravinder Singh, son of late Jaswant Singh of Digiana Camp District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 203/2022 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Banihal and investigation is set into motion.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Mohd Afzal Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Nisar Ahmad Khoja and SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
