JAMMU, Sept 11: Shree Shree 108 Swami Gurdip Giri Ji Maharaj Dera Swami Jagat Giri Pathankot expressed deep grief and agony on the selective and targeted killings of Rajni Bala, a school teacher in District Kulgam and other non local minorities in Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference in Sikandepur here, Swami Gurdip Giri Ji Maharaj said that in these circumstances it is very difficult for any non-local to survive in Kashmir.
He further said that there are thousands of employees belonging to reserved categories who are working in various departments in Kashmir Division for the last 16 years. They left Kashmir for the sake of safety and security after their colleagues were shot dead, he said, adding that they are continuous protesting and demanding to frame a suitable comprehensive transfer policy.
Swami Gurdip Giri Ji Maharaj extended full support of The Dera Swami Jagat Giri Pathankot and directed all the Units of J&K Shree Guru Ravi Dass Sabhas, trust and Society to come forward in support of protesting employees.
He also urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UT J&K administration to consider their genuine demands and frame a suitable comprehensive transfer policy at an earliest.
While briefing to media, CL Banal, Chairman, Shree Guru Ravi Dass SS Trust/ Society Sikanderpur said, “Even though a committee has been constituted by the Lt Governor to examine the issues of Jammu based reserved category employees working in Kashmir, but nothing has been done in this regard and no recommendation has been submitted by the committee to Government so far”.
He said that the Government should frame a suitable transfer policy in favour of employee as early as possible keeping in view the current prevailing situations in Kashmir.
DD Shivgotra, General Secretary of Society demanded transfer Raj Kumar Attri (husband of Rajni Bala) to District Samba instead of deployment and release ex-gratia relief of atleast Rs 1 crore to victim’s family.
Among others present were Kesar Singh, Natha Ram, BR Chadgal, KL Thapa, Capt Tarsem Lal, Manohar Lal, Mulakh Raj, Parshotam Thapa, Sham Lal Bassan and hundreds of devotees of Swami Gurdip Giri Ji Maharaj.
