Omar inaugurates Jourian Grid Station

JAMMU, Oct 1: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today inaugurated 20 MVA 132/33 KV Grid Station at Jourian, a border area in Jammu distirct. He described the commissioning of the grid station yet another milestone in upgrading and improving the system of transmission and distribution of electricity in the State.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, Minister for PHE, Sham Lal Sharma and Minister of State for Power, Viqar Rasool.
The grid station and the 29 kilometres long transmission line on double circuit towers have involved an expenditure of over Rs. 22.71 crore. It will help to meet the growing demand of and upgrade the quality of power in the border areas of Akhnoor, Jourian, Kaleeth, Jogma, Pallanwala, Sohal, Bulli Gulaba and other areas.
