JAMMU, Sept 13: A meeting of Channi Himmat Residents Association was held under the chairmanship of its President Advocate VK Grover.
In the meeting, the members expressed satisfaction over a recent meeting held by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to review the implementation and progress of mega road projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
In the meeting, the Lt Governor took stock of the status of various roads under C&T macadamization, pothole-free road programme under the Roads Sector.
The members expressed grave concern and anguish over poor and dilapidated condition of most of the roads in the area which have been left untouched despite numerous representations made to the authorities concerned.
There are many ditches and pits in roads stretching from Railway Station to Channi Himmat Housing Colony and roads inside Channi Himmat causing not only inconvenience to the residents of Channi Himmat but also these spots are spreading fast eventually leading to huge expense on the state exchequer.
“For several years in the past, roads in the colony have been left neglected and no steps have been taken to repair them. Condition of inner roads in the colony is worse than those in rural areas”, the residents said and demanded immediate repair of all the roads.
