AHMEDABAD, Sept 13: Organized by All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), a 4-day Integrated Sensitization Programme under Finance and Revenue for elected representatives from Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) concluded at Ahmedabad.
On very first day of the program, Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta, elected representative and executives of JMC namely Councillor Dr Akshay Sharma, Sucha Singh, Dinesh Gupta, Anil Kumar Massom, Anita Sharma, Neena Gupta, Anil Kumar, Ashok Singh Manhas and executives of JMC Rimy Ohri (Joint Commissioner, Administration) and Ashwani Sudan (Chief Revenue Officer) attended a session on Municipal Finance and Revenue.
The participants along with Ex-Mayor Gautam Shah and team of AIILSG visited the Statue of Unity on 2nd day of the program. Mayor JMC appreciated the efforts made by Gujarat Government towards women empowerment, especially for tribal community.
On third day, the participants visited GIFT City (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City) to know about the best practices adopted by the GIFT City and assured the faculty members of GIFT city that they also adopt such type of initiatives in JMC in near future. Mayor JMC also met CFO and Senior Manager.
Thereafter, Mayor JMC along with Gautam Shah visited office of Chief Minister of Gujarat and had an interaction/discussion over the model of Gujarat city and also discussed various important issues with Chief Minister as to how JMC can incorporate best practices for the people of Jammu. Mayor JMC also invited Chief Minister of Gujarat to have a visit to J&K UT.
On the same day, the participants visited Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) office and met with its Mayor, elected representatives and senior officials. Threadbare discussions were held during the meeting for modernization and improvement of Jammu city on the pattern of Ahmedabad city. AMC made presentation over Property tax, SWM and its other best practices.
On the conclusion of the training session, AIILSG distributed certificates to the participants from JMC.
