Weeklong AIDS awareness campaign starts

JAMMU, Sept 13: After attending the Regional Folk Media workshop organized by the National AIDS Control Society, J&K AIDS Control Society and Health and Medical Education Department of J&K Government at Lucknow, Sangam Tru Art Production affiliated with Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) started a weeklong special AIDS awareness campaign through folk media at Akhnoor and Tanda.
In this regard musical play ‘HIV Vishanu Hai’ was staged.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest, Anil Kumar Sharma, Headmaster Government Middle School, Kapal De Ban, Tanda and Padma Kumari of Government Middle School, Khugan, Tanda who was guest of honour.
The special guests were Anil Kumar, Rajinder Singh, Duni Chand and Simriti Khanna.
The chief guest while speaking on the occasion said that HIV is a virus that attacks body’s immune system. He also spoke on ways in which HIV spreads.
Short play ‘Nai Chetna’ written by Dr. M.L Dogra chairman BLSKS was also presented.
The music was composed by M.C Kotwal, Music Director BLSKS.
Earlier welcome address was delivered by Dr. M.L Dogra.
