Sir,
It quite delights us when news item regarding grant of package for PoK refugees comes to sight (D.E. Sept 18) and that too after passage of a over half century since their displacement. It goes without saying that had the preceeding Govts both at the Centre and the State been sincere in mitigatingsufferings of their refugees, the demand for proper rehabilitation still echoing in every street, wouldn’t have been there.
Since thousands and thousands who could reach this side of PoK after undergoing untold miseries and loss of in valuable lives and property, are still in unsettled life conditions, deserve sympathy. A strong projection by the State to the Centre, if sincerely done can bring the ripe fruits. Hope, untiring and continued efforts by these people for last many years would surely heal their wounds of innumerable refugees of 1947 who stall are passing through hard realities of life. Since financial status justifies the development, grant of package as under consideration can’t be over emphasised.
