Thief arrested with stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 1.75 lakh

JAMMU, Sept 14: Gandhi Nagar Police arrested a thief and recovered stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 1.75 lakh from his possession.
As per police sources, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Gandhi Nagar regarding theft of gold items.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR Number 160/22 under sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma and assisted by PSI Sonu Choudhary under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma did strenuous efforts and after connecting various leads finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Manish Kumar alias Monu, son of late Davinder Kumar of Navi Colony Shergarh Gadigarh District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen gold items worth Rs 1.75 lakh were recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
