JAMMU, Sept 15: NC provincial president, Rattan Lal Gupta today flayed the government for wasting time, money and resources on Back to Village (B2V) programme claiming that first three phases of the programme have failed to serve the purpose of providing succour to common masses.
The NC leader was addressing party functionaries of Gandhi Nagar Block of Bahu Constituency during a meeting here.
He said that earlier chapters of B2V programme did nothing for the people as still the villages are struggling to get basic amenities as there is water shortage, power outage and civic infra dearth in most of the villages of J&K.
Gupta said rather than wasting the money on such programmes, the Government should use this money for providing facilities to the people.
He said that hardly there is any implementation of the recommendations made in the previous B2V programmes and now the Government is coming-up with the new one making a mockery.
“Roads in villages are in shambles, water and power supply is pathetic, healthcare centres are without staff and medicines and schools are dilapidated then how come this jamboree of B2V will help people in a few days,” he maintained adding: “This is nothing but part of BJP’s agenda to popularize the party on government expenses.”
Those who were present on the occasion were Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, provincial NC secretary; Brij Mohan Sharma, vice president Jammu province; Waris Gill, president Christian Cell and others.
