Charge sheet in UAPA case produced two months prior to stipulated time

JAMMU, Sept 15: Peer Mitha Police produced charge sheet against accused in UAPA case before the court two months prior to stipulated time.
As per police sources, information was received at Police Station Peer Mitha regarding some incriminating material in the official premises of Urdu daily newspaper namely Rah-e-Manzil office.
Acting over the information, a team from Police Station Peer Mitha immediately swung into action and raided the said premises of Urdu Daily Newspaper Office of Mohd Sartaj Sharief at Talab Khatikan Jammu.
During the thorough and meticulous search of the official premises of Newspaper, various incriminating material related to the Unlawful Association Jamat-e-Islami J&K was found and henceforth seized.
On this, a case FIR Number 27/2022 under section 10/13/39 UAPA was registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation was set into motion.
After this, the investigation was entrusted to SDPO North Sharad Kalu, the case was investigated thoroughly and during investigation it came forth that the prime accused of the case in question namely Mohd Sartaj Sharief, son of Shamas Ul Din of Changa Bhalessa, District Doda, at present Sunjwan District Jammu, has been in touch with two exfiltrated militants of Doda to Pakistan after joining HM terror outfit.
Subsequently, the investigation was carried out in threadbare manner and help of technical experts was also taken whereby thorough scrutiny of mobile phones of the accused and related links was also done in a professional manner.
It is pertinent to mention that many more evidences were collected and the investigation was completed in a time bound and fast track manner i.e in four months only, two month prior to the stipulated time of UAPA cases.
It is worth mentioning that, more than 5 UAPA cases have been challaned in last few months by putting the best foot forward in the investigation without compromising quality of investigation.
Finally, the accused has been charge sheeted in the Court of law.
